Evidence-based and Patient-driven

Patient-driven goals.
I want to help caregivers navigate the rocky times with confidence. I have no agenda outside of your goals.  If you want to breastfeed/bodyfeed or not, use formula or not;  your goal is my goal.

You will be given time.
An initial appointment with me is typically 90 minutes long.  Your voice will be heard,  you won’t be rushed, and you will be given support long after the appointment has ended.

Useful Evidence-based Interventions.
Feeding plans are co-created with caregivers as the appointment progresses.  I frequently check in with parents about what feels “doable”.   And to go back to the extended support,  I will happily revise feeding plans based on feedback.

Empathy.
While my personal babyfeeding experience won’t be discussed during your appointment, I have been in the parent role for many common (and uncommon) babyfeeding challenges.  I have experienced the frustration, exhaustion, and fear that you may be feeling.   These experiences have shaped me and make me a particularly helpful resource.

“Tessa saved my breastfeeding relationship with my daughter—she very compassionately and very capably oriented me to the reality of my life as a new breastfeeding mother. She also saved my sanity in those early weeks! And when my son was born two years later, she counseled me through an unexpectedly challenging episode. I’m so grateful for her expertise, her compassion, and her willingness to support me in difficult moments with humor and with grace.”
